"Smamit Overet Lemakom Rachok"

I’ve written a children’s book in Hebrew for preschoolers through year three, inspired by my personal and professional experience with relocation. The book uses fun symbolism, like in play therapy, with vibrant images and illustrations to help kids understand and process complex emotions.

The story focuses on relocation, though it’s also relevant for other kinds of transitions within a country. It’s told from the perspective of a gecko who moves to a new, unfamiliar place and has to deal with all the fears and uncertainties that come with change. The goal is to help kids going through similar transitions feel more comfortable and supported. Moreover, the book provides guidance for parents on preparing for the transition. Suggestions as taking time for goodbyes, giving kids a sense of control where possible, and helping them manage uncertainty by acknowledging their emotions.
